The internal card reader on this photo is connected to the Spider II card sitting in the Mediator 4000Di.  Therefore it is probably Hi-Speed USB 2.0 flash card reader. I have one from Elbox in my Amiga. It also includes one USB port and one Firewire port extensions to the front panel. If you want to see how it looks, go here.

I don't know if this card reader works with Algor. I use mine with Spider and Poseidon + Elbox' drivers.
Algor is the USB 1.1 controller. If this High-Speed USB flash card reader works with Algor, it will do it at USB 1.1 speed (12Mbps) only.

If you need to boot OS from flash, you can get eFlash  card. It has 1MB flash memory on board. See here.
