SCSI drives always were more expensive than IDE, and most manufactures these days tend to only do IDE & SATA...
Here in the UK most stores (even online) only do IDE & SATA, it's quite difficult to find SCSI drives and when you do the prices are ridiculous when you compare them to IDE/SATA...

I spoke to Seagate about 4 months ago when I was looking for some new 500GB IDE HDs and IDE/ATAPI DVD burners and was told by them that they have already begun to phase out the production of IDE HDs & CD/DVD drives in favour of SATA drives.
The chap I spoke to said in less than two years time the only IDE/ATAPI drives available will be old stock or second hand stuff if you can find it. I never asked about SCSI as I'm not sure if Seagate even manufacture them anymore...
When the guy asked why I couldn't just use SATA devices and I explained it was for the Amiga, well I totally lost him at that point...
