Great game that - I only finished it a few weeks ago.  I'm emailing you the ADF now...

BTW I hope you've installed it - 11 disks can be a real pain :-D

---edit---

Could take a little while - the PeeCee is stupidly unstable and will be reset - it'll probably be 10 minutes before it's in a fit state (the A1200 is very stable, but alas has no internet connection)  :-x

OK, I'll just email them...

....wait a minute :-D Anyway, you forgot to say that your manual had the top and bottom bits chewed off, so :-P

BTW I would definitely recomend it - you can still buy the PC talkie version on CD-ROM from LucasArts.  There's even an unofficial sequal being made :-)

- edits out swearword - I don't remember a protection mechanism for this game... as I don't remember it chances are I've chucked it. Can you remind me what the mechanism consisted of?

When you start the game, there will be a screen with three concetric rings with a sun, moon and volcano on.  You have to refer to the part of the manual indicated and click on them to align them exactly (there are 256 combinations)

99% of the time PC versions of these old games ran in DOS, therefore sucked :-) Probably PC-speaker SFX too :-)

I've never played the DOS version, but one big advantage was VGA 256 colours.  The Amiga version would work on far older hardware (ie the A500) but was OCS compatible.  AFAIK the sound on the PC varied enormously - if you had a supported MIDI soundcard then fine, otherwise PC speaker :-x  I think it did have more music though, and the talkie is meant to be great.

There is - the copy protection actually links in with the plot :-)

---edit---
OT: if you've never played it on an A1200 before you'll notice that it doesn't like AGA much, but it'll work from disk fine and might work with a degrader.

I had that problem with the pointer on UAE, though I think it worked fine on the A1200 (hard to say as I've only played it much on an A500 and UAE).

However, I did eventually get used to the pointer problem (there is lots of visual feedback which helps).  In the end, I played the entire game with that problem - and spent a week afterwards clicking about an inch above what I wanted to on any application :-D

Anyway, the version you guys are running, is it installable to harddrive?

My version installed to hard drive fine, but I had to tell UAE to be an OCS/ECS machine otherwise the screen corrupted.
