I don't see what exactly has changed around this place, it's always been chock full of whingers.

The site always attempted to be lax in moderation to allow openness and tolerance of all viewpoints. What happened is a couple of soft trolls hell bent on creating mayhem. These soft trolls played victim and actually got a small group of users fell for the act and became fanboys of the trolls.

Yes I did, but you are 9 years too new to know the history. I was an AmigaOne/OS4 fanboy from ~2000-2002 defending it with religious fervor.  When I opened my mind and bought a Pegasos I (with cash) for MorphOS in 2003 I was blasted as a traitor. I was told that I was a Bill Buck lapdog and a Genesi employee.

I guess you mean OS4? I have not seen any attempt by CUSA to shut down Hyperion/Acube/A-Eon.

Unrelated? The C64x is a dead ringer visually for a C64 and AFAIK will eventually come with a custom distro that includes compatibility layer. Commodore 8bit forums are generally mildly positive or apathetic

The plans for the Amiga is not even finalized or at least not publicized. It is my understand that at the very least a comparability will be added to the distro.

Add to that the rather nasty attitude of Barry

You know that I was pretty harsh on CUSA initially. Some of it was valid IMO, they made some misteps. Barry admitted to me he made some missteps. But there was also slander/libel. Looking back the crap thrown at him was extreme. How would you react to be called a "con artist" or "scammer"? I can relate, I have been called the same things.

Commodore always made diverse products, be it calculators or various genres of computers.  This isn't about that.

The same could be for Hyperion, as they had nothing to do with the ariginal Amiga team lead by Jay Miner.
What are you trying to demonstrate. Hyperion got a license as well as cusa to use the name.
Or are you telling me that the renamed terons were really amigas because the AmigaOne sticker on them?.

I agree with you but with one exception. Hyperion does not have a license for "Amiga", only "AmigaOne" and "AmigaOS".

That was a GREAT comment and very appropriate of (a small number of) certain trolls and other degenerates among us.

Having a hobby is not a problem, it can be great fun. Having a hobby you have great passion for is not a problem. am I the ONLY one that actually learned something from using an Amiga (my First Computer) and that this knowledge translated into how I use Every single other device I have ever used since?

I honestly don't understand this attitude. (meaning that a person is not a true Amiga user unless his finger are actively on an Amiga)

Frim my Amiga I learned how to be frugal using my programs (started out with bare bones A2000, booting from floppy with the smallest amount of memory you could get at the time. ) I still learned how to use DPaint with that set up.

A few years later when I moved to LA and was looking for work at an animation house they "tested" me on their proprietary paint program.
It was a sad little affair where you had to exit out of Every tool to Enter another tool. and you could only use ONE tool at a time. recall DPaint let you use several tools at once. I picked this up in literally seconds because it was WAAAAAY easier to figure out than DPaint.
The person testing me was absolutely astounded at my prowess - I kid you not.

I wasn't trying to show off. Amiga just taught me very important techniques in figuring out how software worked and because it was WAY ahead of it's time made ME ahead of my time.

This gave me an edge that others did not have.

laugh all you wish, but I am an Amiga Snob for a really good reason. I carry Amiga with me in my brain even if I have not touched my old Amiga 2000 is a long time. It exists where it counts. And continues to inform my work no matter what device I use.
