Holy {bleep}ing {bleep}!

That's just...  :pissed:  :pissed:  :pissed:  :pissed:

(Can't think of any words that won't get censored)

I was never that big a fan of Pantera, I liked most of their stuff, but I never went out of my way to listen to them.  I still haven't heard anything by Damage Plan either.  But bloody hell...

Glad the policeman was there and killded the bugger, but that's way too good for him.

I bet you the media blames the music for this too :pissed: :pissed:

Goddamn it!

Goodbye Dimebag :-(

Just as a way to kinda say farewell to one of (imho) the best rockers in the metal world. Yes it sucks he was killed, even moreso by some loonie with a gun

It sucks that he was killed infront of his fans too.

December 8th 1980 John Lennon died infront of his fans by a madman weilding a gun.  The more things change...

I don't care who doesn't like me comparing Dimebag to Lennon - they were both very important figures to the people who cared.

Same with DamagePlan.com although they now have a photo of Dimebag on the front page.

Metal Hammer has a front page tribute, their whole front news page is covered with articles, tributes (from Anselmo, Mustaine and loads more) and details of all the victims.

They've even put up a mugshot of the {bleep} who caused it all.

Final Murder Victim Named
Quote

The final victim to be named in the Ohio club massacre which took the lives of Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell, fan Nathan Bray and roadie Erin Halk is Damageplan's tour manager Jeff Thompson (pictured).

I must stress you to read the rest of that page (it's only another 2 paragraphs, but it should be read).

The Face Of A Killer
Quote

A photo of Nathan Gale, the man who police allege shot and killed four people and wounded an undetermined number of others at Wednesday's Damageplan show, has been posted online along with details of his background which pertain to "mental health issues."

Read the rest of this one too please (slightly longer than the last one).

It was a (official) nutcase's assassination plan.

{bleep}e!!!  I completely forgot about it :-(

Sounds like I didn't miss much anyways :-(

I got Kerrang for the first time in months today to read about Dimebag.  They said that the guy shot him in the head 5 times.  5!?

Definitely a man on a mission :pissed:

On pantera.com there's a video link of Phil Anselmo's statement (8mb wmv file).

There's also an article by local roadies about what happened that night.  Read it - there's more to the story than has been told already.

I never saw it that way at all.  I couldn't honestly care about Phil now.  After all the sh*t that happened when he left Pantera and seeing interviews with him afterwards he was the self-proclaimed saviour of Pantera.  He was what made the band apparently (which in a sense was true, but they were looking for a change of direction before Phil joined them anyway).  I just cannot see past his inflated ego to care about him anymore.  Which is a shame because he was a great frontman when he was in Pantera.

I think (and hope) Vinnie will be okay.  He always seemed to be the stronger of the brothers to me.
