@ssolie

looking forward to seeing everyone there.

if you are able to travel to california this october, you owe it to yourself to come out for amiwest. always a ton of fun, very relaxed, and tons of amiga content (classic and next-gen). it's worth the trip!

looks like brian has posted the hotel reservation information over on his blog. if you guys have the time and means of making it to amiwest this year, do it. you'll be glad you did.

some more updates this morning, this time on the programming seminar which has become a tradition the past few years just prior to the show. this year instead of two days of dedicated sessions, it looks like this year the organizers are planning a working seminar with an introduction on thursday morning and hacking on a specific project throughout.

there are more details on the amiwest blog as well as the dedicated pages for the programming seminar. i've attended the seminars both last year and 2012 and found them to be hugely interesting. for folks curious about what goes on before deciding to attend, there are session notes and videos of the classes available on the AOS developer wiki.

but as with all things amiwest you'll miss out on the fun if you don't show, so start making plans today if you haven't already. all the details you need are at amiwest.net, including special rates for the show hotel. i hope to see you there!

Is anyone planning to demo attend with a system equipped with OS4 running on WinUAE?

This is a really important development and I think a presentation and panel discussion is a must.
i wasn't planning on doing a formal demo of AOS4 running under UAE, but on sunday the intuitionbase.com table will have my thinkpad setup with AOS4+UAE available for folks to play with if interested.

while there are always more classic guys at amiwest than NG users, there are a lot of NG users all the same, including some of the AOS4 devs. maybe we can rope a couple of them into talking about it? dunno -- but i'll try. thx for the suggestion! :)

a couple of quick updates from the amiwest blog today:

  • CBMstuff.com (JimDrew) has decided to attend as a vendor
  • Dave Morris (amigadave) has decided to attend as an exhibitor
  • Andy Broad (broadblues) will be the keynote speaker
this is shaping up to be a terrific get-together, so if you have the means to be in sacramento on october 24th, finish those travel plans now! i look forward to seeing you there along with other amiga.org members.

a bunch of us arrived last night and have been setting up for our programming workshop. this looks to be a great show as always, and some news is already leaking out elsewhere. for those interested epsilon already has pictures up of our seminar setup: http://amigax1000.blogspot.com/2014/10/amiwest-2014-programming-seminar-day-1.html
