Darn :-).
Actually you're quite right, my parents also have a weird psycho cat which can turn really nasty in the blink of eye while it's just dozing next to you on the couch. The cat must have some kind of mental problem, none of the other 2 cats of my parents like her either :-).
But cats luckily aren't that big as dogs and can easily be kicked away should the need arise.
