I couldn't figure out what Oirish meant... Doh! I realised later (see the body parts thread for a break down of the accents thread results) and included it :-)

Eh?! This is something foreigners normally cannot figure out, but it didn't take me too long to figure out. :-?

I don't think it's just about pronunciation, it's also the form of the sentences, there are very specific structures in German (like separable prefixes for example) that give the sound of the language a very pleasant feel..
Indeed, indeed! It feels more, say, logic.

Hmyes, often, if you don't understand it, pronouncing the word out loud is a way to understand it. Also for other (European) languages.

That's very true... I saw a word "Eingesteckt"... which at first glance was meaningless to me... then I read it out "ein" "ge" "steckt".. and realised it was the past participle of "einstecken"... :-)
I noticed it with Norwegian/Swedish. Also, in Luxembourg it was not hard to communicate, in all kinds of western European languages (Dutch, German, French, English, if you don't know a word in one language, try another language  )

An 80's Bar too!?!? I think I might like to visit this place?!?
Well, yes I think so, though I'm not sure whether Groningen is good from a tourist pov.

No? I fancy a holiday...
Well, we still have the old gray one. (the saint martin's tower). And lots of terraces to drink a nice beer outside in the summer. 8-)

Damn, I need a holiday too. (though I'd prefer to go to Germany with their Biergartens and Grosse Weissen, hmmmm)
But no, I have a deadline this thursday, after that, I'll go to Scotland for a week.
