I'd seriously try the papers, though (again, if you have a local rag with free ads and nothing to lose...) Craigslist is great, but there's a lot of older folks (read: original C64 owner demographic) who don't go there and may not have even heard of it, but who do read the papers. Additionally, actually putting out want ads is a world apart from just watching and waiting. Lots of people have stuff that's just inertly taking up space in their attic that they feel no particular pressure to get rid of and may have just about forgotten, but if they see that someone is actively seeking it, that both jogs their memory and motivates them in a way that mere "I should probably get rid of this eventually" thinking won't. Trust me, it's worth a try.
