Have you ever made a dedicated UAE machine?

Theres various ways to do it but have you ever set up a dedicated machine just for UAE and little else?

Nope, UAE is always something I've run ontop of Windows as a curiosity although I've made a lot more use of it lately as a way of setting up custom Workbench installs for FPGA Amigas and my A4000. I do have a WinUAE box though with a PCI Catweasle installed, but it rarely gets used. I'm thinking about putting it in one of the PCI slots in my Mediator A4000 system.

This might be a stupid question, but what benefits would the catweasel add to an actual amiga?

In my case, I was planning on using it to write D64 files back to a 5.25" drive to use on my C64/C128, but my Chameleon cartridge might have made that pointless.
 
Other uses would be to read non-standard disk types from your Amiga by connecting different drives.

Doesn't the newest catweasel allow the use of amiga joystick and keyboard?

Yes it does, which is another reason why I'd like one on this machine. I don't like this competition pro, its too clicky or something. I prefer to use a sega genesis controller or one of the others I had for amiga back in the day.
 
You can actually use an amiga keyboard/mouse and joystick with the new catweasel. Thats pretty awesome.

As far as processor, RAM and video card?
