c64 and amiga donation wanted...
« on: August 14, 2013, 04:03:14 AM »
I started programming music for the first time on the c64's sid chip. Later I got an amiga 1000 second hand when everyone else was buying an amiga 500, and it changed me in so many ways. I learned sampling and "tracking" on the amiga with protracker, and later moved on to an amiga 500, then 2000, then to fast tracker on pc. I made some full length albums, using fast tracker as base tracks but adding guitar and vocals and real drums at times in my home studio...

After some long years trying to become a rockstar...
I moved on to other creative endeavors. Now I'm going back to music, trying to rebuild a home studio. I would like to add a c64 for sid synth and an amiga for distorted drums and other synth stuff possible on the amiga.

If anyone has a c64 or real amiga (I've been using a dedicated emulation machine for a long time, but for this is just does not sound the same) They would be willing to donate to the new studio please contact me....

Unfortunately, being a new dad with a new kid makes me broker than broke. I just hand wired and soldered a bunch of rca cables for the new studio because yes, new child makes me that broke and unfortunately, I have more time than money lately.

Anyhow, just figured if someone can get a free next gen amiga system for making some wallpapers, someone might think it a good idea to donate a machine sitting unused in their garage or basement to someone who will actually produce some cool audio art with it...
I will be thanking anyone who helps or donates on my new album, website, and music videos.

best regards,

Steven

John been looking on craigslist but no luck. Lost 4 or 5 auctions on ebay setting bids at prices I could realistically pay...

I can pay shipping if anyone will donate one, and more than willing to clean, work on and restore machines...

Not sure I "Need" these two machines. The new audio studio will have many audio "generators" funneled into the main workstation/daw but I think I'd really like to have a corner of the studio that houses where I started. I'm fairly sure I can use those machines to generate some cool stuff for the new projects...

Commodore John, I completely agree, which is why I would like actual real machines funneled into the main daw. I have tried using vice and winuae on a pc funneled in and its a bad substitute for the actual hardware funneling in.

There is some character of sound lost in emulation. Nothing beats the real ones with all their subtle character...

Why starting discussion of your of needs with dissing some other bounty?

Oh I was not dissing the guy, just stating a fact, he got a next gen amiga and made some wallpapers or themes...

C64 aquired! I will pick it up this weekend. I can hear the sid screaming now! - Amiga still needed....  Anyone?

True , it can probably be used as a good lead or solo ...

Yes I think its great for lead sounds and bass also...
