Funny thing is the email they used is not used for ebay at all! So they just ASSUME that I used ebay?

Well, does it matter if the 15 million of the 20 million email addressed spammed don't? They still get to the 5 million who do. Out of those lets say 5% are stupid enough to click the link without checking. That still gives 250000 hits to the fake site asking you to log in (if you do, you lose your ebay identity to the phishers...)

I log into my ebay and check left feedback.

This is exactly why this scam works: You naturally want to verify if there really is some negative feedback... If you go to ebay.com directly with your browser you're safe. If you click the link in the email... Oops, you're f*cked.
