I have 2 4000's and have IDE CD-ROMs and a Zip-100 hooked up with no problems. One has a GVP-m 4060 @ 66MHz and the other is a 030. I am actually using a Sony CDRw on the one with the 060. Make sure that setpatch patches the scsi.library or you will need atapi.device.
