The 1942 is a 1084 D1/D2 style monitor that does RGB as well as VGA and has built in speakers, stereo I believe?  The 1960 is a different type that does not have any speakers built in and does all modes and VGA as well.  It also needs the silver RGB to VGA adaptor to use it with anything other than the A3000.  Both monitors work with all Amigas.

how do you figure that?  It is off white just like the 600/1200/4000, if used with a 3000 it would look wrong as the 3000 is beige.
