LOL. Yeah, sorry we kind of got off on a tangent there. More information would certainly help. 
My disks all work the same way as Mike mentions as well. Has the user installed some sort of CD file system? I'd recommend he look for a copy of ASIM CDFS. Its the easiest one I found to get started for people not knowing exactly what to do.
