Amiga 4000 Help
« on: June 11, 2009, 06:16:05 AM »
Hello everyone, Im new to this forum and this is my first post.  I hope I dont make an ass of myself :)  Im pretty new to Amiga, but I own 3x 2000's and 1x 4000/040.

I recently picked up this 4000/040 and know nothing about it.  I purchased a 1950 monitor & a vga adapter with it but cannot get the monitor to sync correctly.  I have posted pix.

While im at it, I was wondering where I can get the 3.1 roms for it and a keyboard.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jon

Well, I have a 1080, 1084 and a 1084s.  Those all seem to be RGB monitors.  Can I hook up a A4000 to RGB?    I do have the cables, but I cant see anything when using those monitors.

Jon

After reinstalling Workbench 3.0 I was able to use the 1084.

I still need the newest ROM available for this along with a keyboard, please email me if you have one or both available. thanks

Here is what has happened:

I managed to get a 1084 to work, but im still curious why im having probs with the 1950.

According to the VGA adapter instructions, I am to drag the different frequency files (DBLPal, DBLNTSC, Euro72, Super72, Multiscan and VGAONLY) into the Devs/Monitors drawer.

The strange thing is, after re-booting, I dont see the new DISPLAY MODES listed.

Thanks for the help! I ended up fixing it.

I formatted the HD, reinstalled Workbench 3.0.
Dragged all the video modes into the dev/monitors directory on workbench
and its perfectly clear now!

thanks
