CyberSCSI MKII
« on: May 06, 2003, 12:05:03 PM »
I just got an CyberSCSI MKII Modul
I like to add it to my 4000..

Can I do something wrong ?

Can I use the Harddrive installed on the 4091-Controller (before) without changing something ?

I  have a CD-ROM too... :-)

There is a jumper for Auto-Termination on the
external-scsi board...
For the internal I need a Terminator for sure ?
On the 4091 the CD-ROM Termination was set..
That worked fine

Ok I tried like tickly said...

There is no Controller and no drive recognized !
I read somewhere that I have to Update the Firmware of the Cyberstorm MKII to use the SCSI-Module !?

Which Firmware to use ? I don't wanna kill my Cyberstorm...

Thanks for an advice

I've got the disk from DCE Download Page

I will try the mkII Flash-Update on this one :-)
Seems to be the thing to solve the problem !

My CSMKII isn't overclocked
The SCSI-Modul has a Symbios Logic chip
The cybscsi.device is now recognized yeah !
But the HDD with my setup (from 4091) dosen't boot !
I try to partiton a new drive now...

I got my 4091 working again ...
( I removed the X-Surf and now my old setup is
booting again) This is strange !

The cybscsi.device didn't show up the CD-ROM
I really wanna change to cybscsi because
its faster than the 4091...
Where can I find the Manual to the CSMKII SCSI-Modul ? (I got it without)

My cybscsi.device shows up with version 8.4
I tried to partition a drive. In HDToolBox I always
get an error when I try to install the drive                       (Error 4 writing to disk)
What the hell is this...
Is there a newer flashupdate than the 8.4 ?

8.6 installed @PaSha (thanks for the mail)
But still same error  !
When I can format a drive on the cybscsi.device
I have only checksum errors accessing it !
Finally I think the SCSI-Modul is defective. :-o
I have now written a mail to DCE i hope they know that problem
