LCD Monitor
« on: September 11, 2008, 07:14:12 AM »
Hello!

I'm brand new to this site and really excited about the A600 i just recieved in the post! I was wondering if someone knows if it's possible to hook the thing up to an LCD monitor? Can someone advise what kind of hardware/accessories i'm going to need for this? The monitor in question is a ViewSonic VP171b.

I've been discussing this with one of my friends. He mentioned that the easiest thing might be to get a monitor which is supposed to be a TV too, which would have a SCART socket that I could connect directly to the 23-pin socket on the Amiga, which would use the RGB signal and gives a pretty crisp result. However, he said he has a vague feeling that the A600 has some advanced graphics modes which are higher resolution or higher frequency than the standard TV modes supported on the A500, and the direct SCART solution probably won't work for those. Is this true? Can someone comment on this?

Does anyone know if the Amiga 600 does S-Video output natively? or am I stuck with composite?
