Hello everybody, I am looking for an item that somebody may own and want to get rid of. I am looking for a fully working, 13" Sears TV/Monitor from the late 80's. It had Composite and funny 8 pin looking RGB connector ( EIAJ-E8M ) on the back. This monitor was targeted to be used on the Commodore 128 back in the late 1980's. Here is the description of TV: Sears Color TV 13" LXI Series Model 564-40843652. If anybody has this monitor, please contact me ASAP, I would absolutely like to buy it from you. Thanks again. I attached pictures of what it looks like. Thanks.

I live in Florida, zip code 33548. Thanks.

This purchase is strictly nostalgic.  This is the exact monitor I had back in 1987 when I bought my Commodore 128.  It took me years to find one on Ebay and I bought it, unfortunately it got destroyed in the mail.  so, here am I am looking for another one.  By the way, I never really liked the way the Vic-20 or Commodore 64 looked on the 1080 or 1084.  I always found the picture to be really fuzzy.

Hello, thanks RobertB for replying to my post.  Yes, I am definitely interested in the 13" black/silver model like I have pictured in this thread.  If you are willing to sell it, and it fully works with a good picture, please private message me with the price and the shipping cost to Florida ( zip 33548).  Thanks again.  I'll check this forum on occasion to see when you answer back.

I see some vintage monitors have the same funny looking 8 pin connector on the back of the monitor but it says "VTR" rather than "RGB".  Can this port also be used as an RGB port for older computers such as the C-128?

Cant help with the monitor but....
In case you need connector info, the oddball 8 pin rectangular one is a E8M EIAJ connector. sears actually sold a sr-2000 monitor back in the day with the c128 that used them. i had one,but its sadly died. panasonic and amdek also used them way back.

this place used to sell them: http://www.markertek.com/product/e8m/eiaj-rec-8-pin-male-connector

there are a few commodore stores that sell the cables i think like:
http://www.oldsoftware.com/cables.html

look near the bottom of the listing for sears, amdek, panasonic cable ;)  $7

good luck on the tv search.. sady people never seem to pack crt's well for shipping.

Yep, I bought two of those cables a weeks ago.  I wouldn't be surprised it it's the rarest damn cable in existence.  I have never seen one on Ebay and probably never will.  Glad I got hold of a couple.
