What about PPaint, a pretty good version was made free a while ago I think.

You might need to find something to strip extraneous data from JPEGs, these days lots of JPEG originating programs add all manner of garbage.

It's been a while since I've done anything like this on the Amiga..

Try StripJPEG on Aminet, in gfx/misc
If you use a PC look for JPEGCleaner (or JPGCleaner?)
