I wonder why you need to call things broken or silly. Do you really think you get accurate help if you insult other people's hard work?

IDEfix'97 was published in 1997 and went out of support short after. So it is really impossible that it supports standards which were invented in 2002.

Similar reasons apply to PFS3. Its design goes back to its predecessors PFS3 and AFS, probably even more far back. When it was published a harddisk bigger than 100 GB was simply not imaginable.

Back to your question: do you need IDEfix, i.e. do you have a 4-way adapter or IDEfix-Express? If not, you can remove IDEfix and use OS3.9 instead. You can patch OS3.9's scsi.device up to version 43.45, then (and only then) you have working LBA48 support.
