There is a program which opens a window before the workbench screen appears. Check which program it is and remove it.

I guess it is the CD-ROM driver which is not properly configured. Probably there is a message saying "unable to open uae.device unit 2" or such in the background.

Move the CD-ROM driver from Devs/DosDrivers to Storage/DosDrivers if you don't want CD-ROM support. Otherwise correct the configuration, it should be uaescsi.device unit 0.

Didn't you use an emergency disk to install OS 3.9 ?

How on earth did you get cdrom.device in there ???

How did you install OS 3.9 ?

Edit: I guess I know it: it's not OS3.9, it's Amithlon installed on WinUAE. You shouldn't do this if you don't know what you are doing. Go and buy the original OS3.9 CD. It's probably a pirated copy of Amithlon anyway.

I`m not gonna go buy a OS that I don`t find functional.

So why did you buy Windows ? There is no demo version available, either. How did you know that you'd find it functional ?

well, all of you got totaly right but..let us think outside of the box:I havea moral issue,is it moral soooooo old systems to be sold in soooooooo high prices just becose we are emotianly conected target group for sales?

The high prices have nothing to do with emotional connections. The reason for the high price is that if somebody rises his hand and whispers "I've got an Amiga for sale", thousands of people will offer him a lot of money for it. If nobody wants an Amiga, prices will go down.

New A1200s are sold for about 100 Euro. This is much cheaper than when they were built.

I live in greece and i have no way to get any amiga stuff here.just think about it,price of the product+shiping+high life cost in greece=well, what do you know,a it high price for me!!

So why do you bother ? If you are not emotionally connected to the Amiga, why don't you dish it and use a cheap modern PC instead ? Nobody forces you to use an Amiga.

Note: by "you" I do not necessarily mean you personally but anyone. Especially those considering to commit piracy. If they want something, it is worth buying it. If they don't think it's worth buying, they don't need it.
