I'm not so sure a Killer App is needed. Killer Apps only draw people when there's a niche that's not already being met somewhere else. You'd be hard pressed to find that niche nowdays.
Nowdays, you'd be better working on how well rounded and useable your environment is, rather than focusing on a niche. Everyday common hardware and common software availability is the biggest feature you could have.
