Fraud on ebay!! :-(
« on: June 15, 2004, 03:22:13 PM »
Hello...  just to let you know (and ask for some help if anybody in Germany is willing to). I won the auction on ebay.de on May 18th for a CSPPC, the seller answered all the emails fast before the auction ended, and even after that when we were arranging payment details, after I sent my payment I asked him for confirmation (the payment was a direct bank deposit from a friend located in Germany too) and since then, there are no news from the seller nor my board. The guys' ebay alias is "vio12" and he's suposed to be located in Berlin, Germany. I've contacted ebay and they have told me there's no way to get my money back as the payment was not made with paypal or a similar service :-(... does anyone have a reference of this person? Maybe somebody in Berlin could help? I have the guy's address regged on ebay. It's just sad these things keep happening in the Amiga "community"... It's dissapointing :-(

Thanks

D.

Hi again...

I don't think the topic here is why we still keep on the classic amiga side and why we still buy old and expensive hardware for it. That's not the point. I understand people buying pegasos machines and running MOS, I'd like them to understand us "classic amiga diehards". We just want to have our machines up and running, no matter how old they are or how slow they've become. I know many people here can understand this point of view. Anyway, I just wanted to comment 2 things about this person on ebay:

1. He's 15 positive feedbacks now and...
2 One of them has apperaed just yet, and the auction for that item ended the same day as mine. Why did it take this long for the buyer to post the feedback when he's located in Germany too and the shipments within Germany take 2 days to arrive to destination?

Sadly, most seller's in Germany do not accept paypal, and this was the case. What can you do when the seller's not willing to accept anything but wire transfer/bank deposit??

Thanks for your support.. I hope there's a good solution for this.

I'll keep you posted,

best regards,

D.

Well, giving new life to this thread.. it turns out that the guy has NOT emailed me once again, there's no sign of the board arriving to destination, etc.. I don't know what's happening. He's not replying emails again eventhough he's been very active on ebay lately.

This could be indeed a fraud :-(
