Did you remove th ebarrell battery from the 2000 before storing it in the loft? Possibel the battery has leaked and damaged the motherboard.
I have a 2000. Wouldnt boot. Battery had leaked. Took me a while to sort it - properly cleaned the board, replaced the socketed 68000 and bingo.
