I don't think the goal of completely replacing a PC is attainable with any of the current Amiga-related options.  MorphOS is the best of the bunch but I don't know if you would be comfortable using it as your main or only system if you're used to running Windows.

If you are used to an Amiga then you'll feel immediately at home, and your first impression will be that its just like an Amiga only more modern, much faster and better looking.  I spent the first few days running every Amiga program I could find and kept being blown away by the speed after years of having an A4000/PPC/Mediator.  A lot of old programs that tried to use the custom chips failed, but compatibility with non-hardware-banging stuff is excellent.  It even ran stuff I never got working on my A4k.  And the 68k Trance JIT is the fastest you will find anywhere.

The lack of a decent browser is obviously another big thing,  but once Marcik's KHTML-based browser appears things will be a lot better.
