have you all the neccessary classes uploadad to the deneb flash rom and thus available at boot? you would need to prevent the stack reload while booting from usb device. there is some poseidon entry in the startup seqence i guess that has to be commented out in that case, just dont remember exactly what, and im not on amiga now.

updated to the last firmware? there was a number of previously unknown issues with busters and elbox mediator boards, that had all been solves so far i can tell.

you can verify if its a dead port attaching the device to another, and actually using it on that other usb port if it works. if it doesnt its either the whole card thats dead (unlikely) or a faulty or incompatible device. i have not had an incompatible thumb or another drive on poseidon but who knows, besides if the thumb is older, they tend to break, consider good backups anyway. and for the time being getting a small scsi drive for next to nothing shouldnt be impossible. im certain its the approach/software problem.

have you genuine daughterboard? buster? 7? have you experienced lockups previously, when you were running the setup with deneb for the first time? unfortunatelly a3k is a little bit rare, so hard to say if deneb has been tested well with that model, but i dont suspect any serious bugs left. you can set your deneb to zorro2 operation mode via jumper setting, just look at the board, its described there. zorro2 should be the safest mode. still lockups?

you cold also consider an acard ide adapter, but thore are more costly. if you dont find anything i may find something for you. would need to test them though and postage around half a world will probably take a fortune.
