I bought Amiga OS 4.0 back in 1987 for my 3000T with Cyberstorm PPC card.  When I tried to install my hardware quit working so I was unable to ever install it.  I see now they have 4.1 Final Edition for Classic and was wondering if I need to rebuy the OS to get 4.1 or if it is available as upgrades to 4.0?  I am getting ready to reload my working machine.

Thanks for any info.
Tim

Just FYI. Before you start working on it, set your expectation as low as possible. Example: If you see ANYTHING during initial boot/install. You can get yourself beer. If you get to the point you can actually INSTALL it, you can drink your beer. IF your Amiga will boot from clean installation/cold start you can get another beer. IF your Amiga will not hung up within next 10 minutes... you can drink it. That way when you get to install "Enhancer Pack 1" (that will screw up whole installation) you are going to be drunk so you will not bother anymore by how bad AmigaOS4.1 is on the Classic :P.

PS. Personally I don't drink... maybe I should when I use my AmigaOS4.1 on my A1200 PPC ;)

I can't use Update 1. It will NOT work (I tried few tricks).

I assume that on A3000 with SCSI works way better then on m A1200 with stock IDE controller (since FastATA that I have and should be supported it NOT supported! - I can't use CD-ROM and HDD at the same time).

So, my AmigaOS4.1 on classic is super slow (read/write). CPU is quite OK for most stuff. It works OKish, looks very nice etc. etc. but I don't consider this as a "final" edition, more like advanced beta. It was cheap (if you have PPC!!!) so no complains here.

I also wish that AmigaOS4.1 would have native access to most other hardware on my Amiga 1200. Then it would be my main OS "forever", but at this point is more a as "I can do it, so I did it".
