One problem with them is the VGA cable is too short.

IMHO the cable already degrades signal quality somewhat... maybe soldering a length of quality VGA cable directly from the board to a female d-sub would be better than a longer ribbon cable?

HUH?!?!?!. I have seen / installed loads of Indivisions. Not 1 has degraded signal. Can you show me some pictures?

It's really no big issue, 99% of people don't care or notice. Compared my PIV or CV3D scandoublers (which output direct with no cable), there is *very slight* fringing around text, and the output, while still very nice, isn't quite as clear. I attribute this to the ribbon cable, which probably isn't the best method for transmitting video.

I'm *not* complaining, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Indivision,  just saying that a ribbon cable of longer length may not be ideal if you want the best image quality. :-)

I'll be trying this soon on my A1200, and will be sure to post the results in a new thread, maybe with some pics.
