You have a point, but you are comparing apples and oranges. One's mass-produced with thousands of new units every day, the other.. well, it's a niche.
If Lamborghini's were produced at the rate of Ford's, I bet they would be less expensive too.
But hey, I don't care. I'm getting $500 version anyway. 
Sure, but it remains to be seen whether or not it will actually be a quality product like a Lamborghini or Ducati. Small volume doesn't necessarily mean the product is good enough to be automatically thrown in the league of the exotic.
