Cbm 8032
« on: March 04, 2012, 06:06:17 AM »
Right, I've just won what appears to be a working Commodore 8032 on eBay!

Unfortunately I missed out on the CBM 8050 Dual Disk Drive by the same seller which finished 20 seconds after the computer did!  Why on Earth would someone have 2 related items finish at the same time?  I wasn't going to bid on the floppy unless I secured the computer and once I did that I had 20 seconds to try and get a winning bid in.  Oh well...

Anyway, does anybody know if C64 floppy drives will work with this PET?  I understand that the cables are different, but I believe the 8050 would work with a VIC20/C64/C128 with an adapter.

Thanks for the info Robert.  I'll keep an eye out for other CBM drives.

Thanks for the great advice guys.

The first ever computer I used was a PET 4000 series and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this one.

I guess I'll keep an eye out on eBay for a PET floppy drive.  Fingers crossed that one will show up.

Does it have a C64 type tape connector?

All Commodore tape decks (except 1531 for the C16/+4) use the same connector and work on all machines.

Lot of info about Commodore PET/CBM computers: PET FAQ

Great.  Thank you.  I thought I remembered a "standard" Commodore tape deck being connected to that 40xx model
