i'm currently waiting for WB 1.3 disks and manual from BoogieGail myself.  :-D i've even received the "i'm too busy..." email - about two weeks ago. if this was any more than $15 i'd be furious, i think i'll (try to) contact her.

here's something though - i recently sold a spare A500. i've just heard from the buyer that he's not able to use the RGB/Video port with his monitor. now, i'm sure that i used that A500 along with an A520 adapter when i got it, i know the port worked fine. for whatever reason, the buyer thinks that i've sold him this unit as defective and wants a refund. of course, the auction was 'as-is due to age' so i'm not sure what to do. also, it looks like he bought one in December that may have been pretty whipped. not sure what happened with that, he didn't end up leaving feedback for the seller. any thoughts on this? is it common/possible for the RGB/V port to go bad? all my other ones work fine, i'm having a hard time believing this...

right, i'm not assuming the worst (with other sellers either), but this is a bit ridiculous. and no, there weren't a dozen 1.3 disks available at the time, at least not in the US (i don't even really need them now though). things are different in UK/Europe it seems. i'm not going to wait by the mailbox, or raise hell (should i anyway?), but i would like to see these show up.

as for the A500 - right, it was sold 'as-is', but due to people who "won't buy from anyone with even a 98% feedback rating" i'm at the mercy of anyone i do business with. there's no way i would've sold this thing knowing anything was wrong, but now i've got to worry about him possibly leaving a negative if i don't refund his money. how does it look to you? here's a link to the auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140097078675&rd=1&rd=1

i take my current 100% pretty seriously and try to maintain a good relationship with buyers/sellers, but stuff like this makes me not want to deal with it. i've gotten quite shafted on a handful of C64's recently, did i go off crying to the seller for each of them? not at all, they were listed 'as-is' and i knew that when i bid on them. i've also never waited until i received positive feedback from a buyer to do the same for them. if they do their part, i immediately give them a positive for their payment. feedback ransom is lame.

oddly enough, my WB 1.3 disks and manual came yesterday afternoon just after writing about this. hopefully things will work out with the guy on the A500, he seems reasonable so far.

thanks for the input on the A500. it's tricky listing something 'as-is', or even selling something when so many things can go wrong with it. obviously it was working fine for me, but who knows what could happen in the meantime. i also wouldn't want to be responsible if he happened to plug something in with the machine powered up. fortunately i've got a handful of A500's here at the moment and was willing to repair/replace it if needed.

update - the guy emailed me last night saying he was a 'big idiot' and that he was sorry for giving me a hard time. :-D i wouldn't go that far, but... looks like he just didn't have the monitor switched over for RGB input (maybe it was set to composite?). turns out that the other one he bought had a  bad PSU and RAM expansion. if he hadn't agreed to test it out a bit more it'd be on its way back here, all due to user error. still pretty frustrating. now if i can just get these C64's working...
