Amiga Mobile?
« on: January 24, 2007, 02:14:10 AM »
Dear Fellow Amiga Nuts,

I am in need of a new mobile soonish, and I desire to have an Amiga mobile. not sure if this exists exactly(or what brand to get), but can any one advise me how I can support the Amiga company when getting a mobile?

Is it possible to have an Amigs os mobile?

Also, with the new os4 coming out for sale early april, will the company be bringing out the os4 and standalone devices, such as a mobile? I know the Amiga os4 will have a new Amiga computer with it, specs unknown to me at the moment, and this will be a stand alone operating system.

Also, os4, will not be able to be an emulator at the moment, which is fine for me, as I plan on getting the new pps or whatever they call it, but what should my friends do who arent exactly nuts about Amiga, but prefer it over Microsofts absolute {bleep}?? Should they get Winuae emultor 3.9? as in Amiga 3.9 emulated? Or should they wait a bit?

Thank you kindly Amiga Buds,

Phillip 8-)

A couple of things here,

One, maybe it is already out in other parts of the world?

Two, MOST importantly, Amigainnovation.com, dwayne osborne, has told me I cannot buy the system as yet, as it will not be coming out until Early April.

Three, RELATING, to above, why would he say this, if he were able to get it already.

So in short my friend, I am 85% certain that I cannot get it as yet, and that it isnt out yet.

As far as I can tell, its only a beta version thats out, for testing, and people can use this. Besides, The actual os4 will not be able to be used as an emulator, atleast not until Amiga Inc and Hyperion decide to change this.

Cheers 8-)

Dear Mick The Lip,

Firstly, are you Micheal Milic? If so, Im Phillip, I emailed you a few days ago, Im stephen Hattons friend.

Not as yet, but I will keep you posted with updates, as I am constantly in the process of emailing my contacts for updates, I am sure they will tell me more at a later stage.

At the moment Dwayne Osborne, from Amiga Innovations, has only told me that the Plans are to bring it out early April.

OK, You say the OS4 has already been released to those who bought Amiga1's, are these Amiga1's the 933Mhz pps systems? If no what are they and how long ago was it when they were on the market for sale via Amiga?

What Im talking about though are totally new Amiga 1's if they are even going to call it this, will be totally Amiga built computer whereby the OS4 will be a stand alone operating system on them. No as far as I know, this they have not yet released.

If they have, gimme links and stuff, and I will buy asap.

Over and out.

Michael man, relax, you seem a little tense and negative about it all. Lets see, Amiga has had plenty of time, along side with Hyperion, to get this organised, I'm sure they will bring it out, I mean, If they dont, then they already will need to update their os4 and Amiga computer system that goes with it.

5 systems, well done mate.
I see your point for the questioning now, after you've told me what you did.
Still, Ive only been back in the game a week and 3 days, and Ive learnt heaps.
Im not twiddling, Ive got a 64, with various Amiga parts connected to it. I know, it takes the large disks nd all, but there are still some games I play on it.
But I dont see a point for me getting an Amiga system right now, until Amiga come out with OS4 on their new Amiga computer, partly because of my 3 running and 2 not pc's, which will be emulated today, as Im expecting the package to arrive.
SO, IN SHORT
If I did get an older Amiga now, It would be the Amiga 4000T with the luminescent Amiga symbol.

NOW:
but can any one advise me how I can support the Amiga company when getting a mobile? The rest of questions are in the first original post I posted.
You seem Like you know a lot, can you tell me What would be a good mobile to get that would support the OS4? or even an early Amiga OS?
And if its a PDA, by all means tell me.

Cheers Michael

Then whats with all the PDA shots, mobile shots and all on the Amiga website??
I dont mind not having os4 on my mobile or PDA, Id just have 3.9 then, thats fine.
The bigger Question is, what do I have to do, do retreive a mobile or PDA that allows me to run Amiga on it?
Also, Is it at all possible to have a device like this, that only runs Amiga OS, or does it have to be a windows Mobile or PDA whereby Amiga os3.9 is running over it?

Thank you

Kind Regards

Thats ok, I cant expect people to understand what I mean all the time.
Let me rephrase, is there a company that Amiga is in conjunction with that produces mobiles or PDA's, and hence, some royalties will go towards the Amiga company if such an Item is purchased?
Also, I believe Amiga would be wise if they allow there OS, or atleast some type of OS to be used on Mobiles and PDA's, as then we may see more of an expansion in the Product line in future.
Plus, I desire to have Amiga with me wherever I go, so it would seem unreasonable to think that there arent many people who can see the benefits of this company in multitasking alone, hence, the company must surely realise by now their potential to start running more of the market.

Cheers

Thats fine mate.
Its not just enthusiasm though, I honestly can see I gap here, and I think Amiga would be extremely Insane if they didnt take it this time round, coz then, Hate to say it, Amiga may well be a thing of the past.
And that would be Unexceptable to me, and many others, including younger folk, that were born in 88.
I wasnt, Im older.
Here are two links mate.

Excellent, thats more like it, someone who is answering my questions, rather than asking a question on top of a question.

Thank you kindly dear sir, I geuss I will in that case get either a motorola or samsung. Any others you know of?

A more important question for my sake, SO, is Amiga alive and well? And is Amiga actually Hyperion? or is Hyperion working for Amiga Inc. who now may have decided to make a new Amiga computer with OS4 on it, for release in Early April?

Thank you

Kind regards

You are an interesting and entertaining character arent you!

Maybe, if you and many other supposed supporters of Amiga wouldve actually gotton others around you to also purchase the emulators, Amiga may have been able to actually have these gizmos now.

Oh well, its not quiet over yet, and Amiga will still be out there, and the more people Amiga enthusiasts get to use the 3.9 OS or any type of Amiga computers with OS4, the more likely it will be that the next time you look out your window, you will see a young Kid holding a PDA Amiga OS system running on it, or a mobile with an Amiga standalone OS running on it!

Simple isnt it, its called marketing, but I dont see any people helping Amiga out here, all what they seem to be doing, even in my other post(esp) is being negative and biased towards their own Kind, have you all gone Microsoft crazy???

Look, what Im trying to say, is yes, you are right about the past, but we are the ones who determine the future, I am young, and so far Ive met one other young chap on this site, so if we get more of a market here, then the future will look Brighter for Amiga.

Im now officially off to training, and then to go out for a boys night out. And yes, Ive already hooked two out of the 12 boys onto getting the Amiga emulator, thanks for wanting to ask!

SUPPORT YOUR AMIGA! If you hate other platforms, I repeat this : SUPPORT YOUR AMIGA! Its easy, just grab some paper, print some cards with useful informative websites about Amiga OS4 and AMiga Emulators, and distribute.

Oh yeah, And tell all your friends, mates, man even aquaintances to atleast have a read of some of the fantastic amiga sites out there.

Cheers

Ill be back tomorow AMIGA Fanatics 8-)

http://www.amigainnovations.com/

(Egg Somewhere in that fridge?)

LOOK AT IT

Its based in western australia, so ofcourse there wont be much to see here, as Australia, the Amiga isnt a Kult computer here.

and if it is, well, then I find it strange that there are no community functions with Amigas here then.

LANDO:
And Amiga Community:
I've looked up both Samsung i700 and Motorola Q.

I was just wishing to know, If there are any other Mobiles or PDA's that I could buy that may be supporting Amiga software.I ask, as I do not know all the possible models that allow this.

Ive read mobilezone.

On this note, I was hoping to run an Amiga OS on this Mobile or PDA, but a standalone OS.

Can anyone suggest some good model PDA's or phones, that are good with the Amiga OS?

Ive gone to Amiga.com already.

Also, Ive gone to the AROS site.

Thank you

Kind Regards
