hey Mike
I was using a 512meg usb which had the fat designation, but it didn't work initially, so I reformatted it and I got it going (fat/fat16) or it wont work i guess.
big ups!   to voyager2007 for this how to
http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic_id=26398&forum=28&start=20&viewmode=flat&order=0#446362

so far I made it to format screen, it timed out there, and eventually locked up, I'm on it again!

edit- Morph 2.0 stability after booting
« Reply #3 on: July 12, 2008, 12:27:16 AM »
now I'm up...what next? it is so fickle, that I can't do anything! Yes I want to buy the key... No it's not worth the instability on efika, if the key doesn't prevent the lock ups.. or some kind of fix! Hey guys..I would love to appreciate the work, but..?

how do you get connected online? no tcp stack eg genesis (plus i have to dial up) I was hoping to post this thread on sputnik like some others
diamonds...didn't get that goning either.  Oh by all means.. send me over the the Zone!! :getmad:

Sorry to hear about your displeasure with MOS 2.0.

*It's more frustration than displeasure though :-)

Are you using the "boot HD:0 boot.img 3d"?  If so there has been some reports of freeze ups using it in 3d mode.

*Yea I gathered that, so i setenv back to regular boot img

On my last post, I gave you some info on keyboard/mouse and usb hubs that could cause some instabilities if not connected in a particular order.

* yea, but still have issues with usb connections freezing the system at times...hum

I have a licensed copy of MOS 2.0, and it has been running just as smooth as it did without the license minus the time limit of course.

Getting online with my Ethernet connection with no trouble at all, and this post comes via my Efika running MOS 2.0. :-D

* That's what I want to do!  I don't have ethernet, but my 56k modem is attached to the serial port, I just don't know how to configure anything to get connected

Games and applications are running fine.  Not sure what exactly is causing your system's bad behavior.

* :-( I just want to play something!

I'm sure the MOS team is still finding bugs and solving them as fast as they can.

Mike

Are you saying that your Efika is running stable with MorphOS 2.0?

If so please put your full specs here so maybe me and the other folks having stability issues can start troubleshooting a bit?

I've seen reports here and there of it running stable but nobody seems to have an answer to why everyone else is having such issues.

:-D  I mean can I actually do something?  someone give me a game link or anything..I have yet to do nothing!!

note that it should be hd:0 and not hd0:

oops! i'll try that!

Thanks!! that was it. how do i save this setting? this is lovely now... i owe you man!!

edit: yea, it gives me a 1024x768x60Hz.  This resolution gives the entire screen, and works for me.  How do i save it.  i tried getting back to monitor settings, but not getting the option to do that any last advice?

OK try this. Go to system settings, and monitors. If 1024x768 is not in the list then you will have to add it. First choose your monitor, or if you don't know exactly which one to use then go with 48KHz because that should give you 1024x768x60hz. Then add a mode, and pick 1024x768 from the drop-down list. Save the settings and reboot.

Now go to system settings and screens. Click on Ambient, and then edit, and choose the 1024x768.

it didn't set, just revert to that old setting, strange...had a similar issue with setting the clock but i had to try setting it in the pre boot img wizard and save it. might have to do it there?
