$2k+ for a hobby computer. No thanks. What are these people smoking? Who pays that much today for a fully loaded computer with a relevant OS even? Guess I'll just move ahead with my plans to get a 27" Intel based iMac for that kind of money.

We should have known better. Remember the announcement that purported that the X1000 was going to cost less than the original Amiga 1000 when it first rolled out? Someone conjectured that there was going to be a translation to modern currency with inflation figured in. Looks like they were right

It does and can, but a lot of people still know what it means here when you use it contextually.

Actually you can go to IBUYpower.com and make an intel i7 6 core (12 total threads) for about that much with a nice case. Use a gigabyte MOBO with the efix bios adapter, install win7, MacOS snow leopard, and unbutu each on separate drives (500 gig hd's are $50 usd). Get the new Amiga forever and a 6pack of coronas and enjoy a sunday afternoon or rainy day...
