A4000 Hard Drive install
« on: July 05, 2006, 01:30:24 PM »
Hey All,
Had been a long time Amiga user but it has been a looong time now.  I have a friend that needs her A4000 IDE fixed.  I can only find a 20 gig or b igger hard drive and I cannot make it see all of it or even enough for her to install her video toaster flyer software.  Can someone help me refresh to set this up correctly?

Please any and all help would be very appreicated.

Thomas,
Thanks VERY much you got me running.  I forgot the rules of HD on the Amiga.  It has been almost 6 years since I have plyed with an Amiga.  I just went with the defalt and acted like it was a 4 gig drive, since I dont have the drives data sheet and couldnt find it online.  Once I split the patitions down below the 2 gig the Newtek Flyer software saw there was enough there to install to and everything went fine.  Its funny how you can loose the little things you used to do every day when its been a while and the stuff you work on now is so different.  I fought very hard not to switch to a PC but in the end had to keep up with the modern work of video editing and in turn move to the PC.  I still have some Amiga stuff and have kept from getting rid of it because I didnt know where to post it for true Amiga people to get it rather then just let it go to the side.  In the near future I think I will post some of my Amiga treasures here.

Thanks Again for all the help!

Chris W
