Got Netsurf 68k working
« on: July 06, 2009, 09:00:09 AM »
Just wanted to thank the authors of Netsurf 2.1 for 68k Amigas.  I am testing it out on Winuae, but am going to install it on my miggy next.  It's great to finally have a CSS browser for 68k Amigas.  It has a couple of bugs... sometimes it's hard to type in text (for example it took several attempts to get the browser to type in my name and password and sometimes typing in text for a new message thread or reply can be tricky, i.e. the text doesn't always appear or there can be a delay in seeing the characters appear on the screen)  However, the rendering is very good (although I have only been using it for 15 minutes :) )

Keep up the great work guys!

For Winuae I use OS 3.1.  I have a Derringer 030 installed in my Amiga with 32megs of Ram.  I am wondering if this will be enough to run Netsurf smoothly, but I will give it a try.  Netsurf runs very fast in Winuae... i really am enjoying it.

Edit/

Just fixing some typos

I downloaded Netsurf from aminet.  Make sure you have AmiTCP installed and it should run without any problems.  (And I, too, have bsdsocket.library emulation enabled in Winuae)

@ selco

My reply was a bit vague.  I have the usergroup.library in the correct location in winuae.  On my Amiga 500 I have installed AmiTCP.

@ tumbleweed

I hope rendering isn't too slow with an 030.
