Ummm.....So what?

It's almost if like they waited to see if Amiga, Inc would just go bankrupt first so they could keep all the profits and the brand or something.

I don't know, but none of my computers will run this and there are no computers I can buy to run this, so in my world, it might as well simply not exist.

So I guess they will HOPE to find solid developers who happen to have computers that will run this so they can spend another year developing software in hopes that the other 12 people who can possible run the OS and resulting software will buy it.

This is really such a pathetic non-win.

I can't believe I'm actually saying it, but I'm actually interested in this so-called Amiga OS 5.0.  At this point I have a much stronger chance or running it than I will ever have or running 4.0.

Dang!

Man, believe me, I hate to pee in the pudding and boy would I love to have a copy of AmigaOS 4.0, but let's face the facts.

Hyperion gambled and lost big time.  Not only did we lose because all the hardware vendors left the market due to the delay, but they lost because there is NO WAY for them to recoup their cost of development and turn any reasonable profit.

This is a textbook case of bad business strategy and planning.

So it's over.  Dead.  Caput.  No hardware, no AmigaOS 4.0.

Hate to be that harsh about it.  Hyperion simply pulled an Irving Gould or Medhi Ali on this one.

For the handful of people who do have the PPC card and will buy the software, great for them.  If they can find developers for their rare boards, even better.

In the meantime, I say enjoy you current kit.  Developers should keep developing for it and we'll see what Amiga 5.0 turns out to be.

Don't feel sad.  It's not like you were getting any real browser, extra media tools like iMovie, iPhoto, better IDE tools, etc.
