Have you visually inspected the PCB for signs of mechanical damage?

Have you tried booting it with nothing but the PSU and monitor attached?

Have you gone through the pain of trying the motherboard as a replacement for your working A1200?

The mouse problem could indicate a faulty CIA, failing mouse-connector or mouse, the latter is easiest to check).

Removed and reseated all socketed chips already?

Tried a different power-supply?

Read the newspaper?

Said nice things to your partner?

Seen the sun set?

Oh... erm... must stop... must stop....

Really? You must be a lucky man :-)

All joking aside... Back to the topic.

If it's showing the 'Insert Disk' screen with no funny colors then all should not be lost yet.

Unfortunately you've got to go through the pain of attaching the hardware back one at a time until the machine starts to act weird.

So, plug in the mouse at this point (still only PSU and monitor attached!) and press both mouse buttons while powering the machine and keep them pressed until you get the early-startup menu. If that menu appears you can check the functioning of the mouse going left/right up/down. If that works, start adding the next piece of hardware, I'd suggest the keyboard followed by the diskdrive.

It really should not matter but just to be sure... check Master/Slave settings on the harddisk (should be master).

Oh and try a different IDE cable if available.

I had been thinking about maybe the powersupply is not powerfull enough but that doesn't make sense with the combo with the blizzard ;-).
