Amiga 1200 floppy drive issue

Hi all,

I have been given an old Amiga 1200 of a friend of mine and decided to get it up and running again. It has a hard drive with workbench 3 installed on it. The machine boots fine and will run software of the hard drive.
The problem is with the floppy drive. It will recognise that a disk has been put in but will displays a message saying Virus Checker II can not read boot block for viruses. After this the disk icon appears with DF0: ?. I've tried several disks and even tried replacing the drive with another but I'm still having the same problem.

Anyone got any ideas? Ive got a box full of old games that I can't wait to have a play on again!

Thanks for the advice. As of let no joy getting it to boot with any of the game disks. Though interestingly it will see disk that are put into an external drive I borrowed of  a friend of mine (its amazing what people have in attics)
I havent managed to track down the antivirus file to disable that but i will give it another go.
