From personal experience, you might want to use HDInstTools (check AmiNet, v6.9 should be the last stable one) to recognize disk geometry, edit partition(s) and load proper filesystem into RDB. It has more control over configuration process that might be more valued later, if some problem arises.

I'm sure you right; HDInstTools is nowhere near the HDToolBox on WB3.5+, but it worked for me, obviously, since I used it exclusively on my KS/WB 1.3 setup.
@Orange - I stand corrected, Thomas has strong args against HDInstTools, you should be on safe side with HDToolBox.
