all I get is notification of missing files and a dialog

start it from command line, cd into the root folder of the extracted archive, then then start it, boot\AROSBootstrap.exe!! You should get some output if there is an error? (maybe)

or try the newer (2009-03-04) release that can be started by double cliking AROSBootstrap.exe directly, get it at the download link in the news artcile above!

Is this the Linux thing or Windows or what?

Windows-Hosted AROS?? AROS runing inside windows and using windows resources directly, grahpics, filesystem, memory...

There is no readme, it is early release just so peeps can try it!! and why would you want an installer? Extract and Run!!

Worked great for me!!  :-)
