Is there a way to make it so normally ImageFX loads on its own screen, but for these rare occasions when I do want to do stuff on my desktop, I could make it load onto my destop? If that makes any sense?

Easy. Copy  IFX and rename it, say IFX_Desktop (or whatever floats your boat). Go into icon information and type WORKBENCH  Then save it
Check to make sure you haven't got any other conflicting tooltypes in there.
IFX should now open on your workbench.

Hmm ImageFX won`t listen

So, if you open it normally, can you then change it to run on your opus screen?
If you can, are you able to save these settings?
I cannot test it now, but running it on a normal WB was a no-brainer, so on a Opus screen should be easy enough.

@Nick

Yup, I see what you mean. However, I've managed to sort it out.
Here's a walk thru:
1. Copy the icon as previously discussed.
2. In prefs/preview options, ensure that the OpenScreen tickbox is, err, unticked.
3. Save as Default_New (or whatever). This is where it will probably crash. So reboot if it does. If it don't, close IFX anyway.
4. Open the icon information and change the PREFS= to your new prefs file and add the WORKBENCH tooltype as previously discussed. Save.

IFX now boots up on your Workbench.

Is that a tooltype which can be changed or is a fixed thing?

OK. Delete the WORKBENCH tooltype and use:
PUBSCREEN= What_Ever_your_screen_name_is

Wierdly, if I run Diropus (5.5), IFX opens fine on it with the WORKBENCH setting. Go figure.
