Remove the trapdoor cover and keep it off. Lift the A1200 case off the deck using 1 inch high rubber feet (stick 'em on the underside with Bostik, etc). Those cork-shaped rubber door buffers work well.
The plan worked a treat with my old A1200/'030-50, which got very hot and regularly stopped working when rendering with Imagine. Never had a problem after fitting the legs and letting her breathe.
