A4000 had a bath, now need to remove leaking battery!
« on: September 26, 2003, 08:04:40 PM »
OK, I've cleaned down my A4000 and I need to remove my leaking battery.

Hit a stump though! How do I disconnect it? Do I just take the barrel from the two protruding pins or do I take the pins (well thin flat pieces of metal) with the battery from the underside of the motherboard?

If I disconnect the holder, which of the three holes do I connect my wire which will connect to my new battery. There are 3 positive holes where I could put it.

If I don't get rid of the holder, there are two prongs available on both the positive and negative ends. Which do I use? Or does it not matter as they're not seperated before they reach the board?

Anyone who's done this before give me a bit of feedback on how best to unsolder the battery.

Sorry for the lack of terminology :-)
