The article was written by someone who obviously felt a bit threatened by the Mac for reasons that escape me. It was poorly researched and just there to get a rise out of people, which it did to some extent.
Mac has a 5% share of the market so I doubt it's ever going to be any threat to the PC anytime soon. In some ways I'm glad it's a niche product. Keeps the hackers elsewhere. Plus you get that pride and loyalty that reminds me of the loyalty I had to Commodore before they went bust and left me with a brand new CD32 with no future.
The fate of Commodore and the Amiga are so closely entwined with Apple. Commodore had a chance to buy Apple at one point and then Apple had a chance to buy Commodore and the Amiga at a later date. Where would we be today if either had happened?
