Are you sure it's Java and not Javascript? If it is infact javascript that kept you from purchasing the tickets, then Voyager maybe what you need.
Java is coming, as has been mentioned. The JAmiga project is coming along (
http://www.jamiga.org ). Don't worry, yes the news on their site is quite old but it is still in active development.
OpenOffice is being ported (
http://amigaopenoffice.org ). They have been in contact with the JAmiga project as java is needed for some OO functions.
Mozillia is coming or Firefox. There is a rather large bounty for this project. (
