Oh you need colors from a palette? Well, here is another attempt (note that my tool changed the "transparent" color into one of the colors in your palette)

I used a BASIC program to change the green shades to red. Tried tweaking the rule a few times but I ran into the problem that fishy mentioned of not being able to distinguish effectively between some of the grey/green pixels. I also tried to boost the red intensity a bit like the pic in the first post but most of it was lost again during the palette conversion step which was done with this
