Although the Palm cradle will accept a serial connection upto 115Kbps it doesn't seem to actually work faster than 19.2Kbps. So it is slow indeed. I had mine working with my A2000 and on an old Mac recently.
yeah you can use SLIP or PPP to connect to a PC instead, there was just a thread about this last month
