Debian? Apache? Amiga? Amazing!
« on: March 04, 2005, 05:58:07 AM »
I have 2 amiga's. One is a 68040 A4000 with 32MB of ram. The other is a 68030 A1200 with 16MB of ram. The A4000 has an internal ethernet card and the A1200 will be using a NE2000 pcmcia ethernet card.
I'm not sure what brand/type of ethernet card the A4000 has.

Ok, here's the deal. I know you can run Debian on Amiga. I know you can run apache on Debian.

I have three questions:
1) After installing debian on amiga can you just "apt-get install apache" or do you have to compile apache from source?
2) Are there any really well documented installation manuals for getting linux on amigas where they outline how to setup the hardware?
3) Has anyone setup this configuration before and if so can you give me some pointers/resources to look at?

This may be for a second year bonus project I'm doing for a Internet Systems Technician course.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated as well as advice for which linux distro to use with amiga.

Thanks again for your time.

Awesome. My 1200 has an FPU and I can probably throw some more ram into it.

Thanks for the NetBSD suggestion! I will look into it.

As for the amiga active mags I will also see if my dad has any in a box...

THANKS EVERYONE!
